A large shopping mall was under contract to be purchased by our client. The viability of plans for the space were dependent upon the load-bearing capacity of the concrete joists.
Records of the joist structure had been lost, and without them the engineers were unable to determine what loads the existing joists could handle.
We were brought in to inspect the joists to find how many reinforcing tensioned strands were inside using our utility locating services.
By taking scans at multiple sections of the structure, our Radar Hawk operators provided our clients with the joist capacity information they needed to make an informed decision.
